Welcome to Crimson Bush Lodge, situated within the Big 5 Dinokeng Game Reserve.

We look forward to welcoming you for a relaxing bushveld getaway.

Crimson Bush Lodge offers comfortable self-catering accommodation. Our units are equipped with kitchen facilities, crockery, cutlery, basic cooking utensils, bedding and bath towels.

To help you prepare for your stay, we recommend bringing the following items.

1. FOOD AND DRINKS

– Groceries and meals for the duration of your stay.
– Meat and other food for braais.
– Milk, coffee, tea and sugar for your stay.
– Salt, pepper, spices, sauces and condiments.
– Cooking oil, butter and other cooking essentials.
– Snacks and refreshments.
– Drinking water and beverages of your choice.
– Ice for drinks and cooler boxes.

2. BRAAI AND FIRE ESSENTIALS

– Charcoal or braai wood.
– Firewood for the outdoor boma.
– Firelighters.
– Matches or a lighter.
– Your own braai utensils, including braai tongs, braai forks and other necessary equipment.
– Your own hinged braai grids (toeknyp roosters) and any other braai grids you may require.

IMPORTANT: Guests must bring their own braai utensils, tongs and hinged braai grids, as these items are no longer supplied by Crimson Bush Lodge.

3. PERSONAL ITEMS

– Shampoo, conditioner, soap and personal toiletries.
– Toothbrushes and toothpaste.
– Personal medication.
– Sunscreen and lip balm.
– Mosquito and insect repellent.
– Additional toilet paper, especially for longer stays.
– Personal hygiene products.

4. SWIMMING AND RELAXATION

– Your own swimming towels.
– Swimwear.
– Sunhats and sunglasses.
– Comfortable clothing and shoes.
– Warm clothing for cooler evenings.
– Books, board games and other quiet entertainment.

5. WILDLIFE VIEWING AND GAME DRIVES

– Binoculars.
– Camera or mobile phone.
– Hat and sunscreen.
– Comfortable clothing in neutral colours.
– Warm jacket for early morning and afternoon drives.
– Closed shoes.
– Drinking water and snacks for self-drive excursions.

Guided game drives must be booked in advance and are subject to availability.

6. CHILDREN AND BABIES

For families travelling with children or babies, please remember:

– Nappies and baby wipes.
– Baby food, formula and bottles.
– Personal baby equipment.
– Children’s medication and toiletries.
– Swimming aids where appropriate.
– Favourite toys, books and games.
– Swimming towels.

Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising children at all times, particularly around swimming pools, heated tubs, fires and wildlife.

7. OTHER USEFUL ITEMS

– Mobile phone chargers and power banks.
– Torch or headlamp.
– Personal first-aid essentials.
– Cooler box.
– Any special kitchen equipment you may need.

8. WHAT WE PROVIDE

Our self-catering accommodation includes:

– Bedding and bath towels.
– Kitchen facilities and basic cooking equipment.
– Crockery, cutlery, glasses and cups.
– Refrigerator and kitchen appliances appropriate to the unit.
– Private braai facilities, excluding braai utensils, tongs and hinged braai grids.
– A starter supply of selected toiletries and consumables.
– Daily housekeeping.
– Wi-Fi.

Facilities vary between accommodation types. Please refer to your booked unit’s description for its specific features.

9. IMPORTANT INFORMATION AND HOUSE RULES

NO MUSIC POLICY*

Dinokeng Game Reserve has a strict NO MUSIC policy.

No music of any kind is permitted, including music played through speakers, radios, vehicles or other electronic devices.

Guests must respect the peace and tranquillity of the reserve. Loud noise, shouting and any behaviour that may disturb wildlife or other guests are strictly prohibited.

WILDLIFE SAFETY – BIG 5 GAME RESERVE*

Crimson Bush Lodge is situated inside the Big 5 Dinokeng Game Reserve, where dangerous wild animals roam freely.

For your own safety, walking anywhere in the game reserve or outside the electrified fences surrounding Crimson Bush Lodge is strictly prohibited.

Guests must remain within the protected, fenced areas of the lodge. Under no circumstances may guests leave these areas on foot to explore the reserve, approach wildlife or go for walks.

These safety rules apply to all guests, including children, and must be strictly observed at all times.

ADDITIONAL HOUSE RULES*

– Never approach or feed wild animals.
– No pets are allowed.
– No smoking inside accommodation units or on patios.
– Please bring your own swimming towels. Bath towels supplied in the units are not intended for swimming.
– Children must be supervised at all times.

10. ARRIVAL INFORMATION

Check-in: 14:00–18:00

Check-out: 06:00–10:00

Please use Waze and select Crimson Bush Lodge Reception as your destination.

We recommend Tau Gate for convenient access.

Please follow Waze all the way to Crimson Bush Lodge Reception rather than navigating only to Dinokeng or a general location within the reserve.

At the Dinokeng entrance gate, you will receive an entrance ticket. Please keep this ticket and bring it to reception. We will stamp it for your stay when you depart.

Please contact us in advance if you anticipate arriving after 18:00, as late arrivals require prior arrangements.

Begeleide game drives moet vooraf bespreek word en is onderhewig aan beskikbaarheid.

Ouers en voogde is verantwoordelik vir die toesig oor kinders, veral rondom swembaddens, warmbaddens, vure en wild.

8. WAT ONS VOORSIEN

Ons selfsorgverblyf sluit die volgende in:

– Breekware, eetgerei, glase en koppies.
– Yskas en kombuistoerusting volgens die betrokke eenheid.

Dinokeng Game Reserve het ‘n streng GEEN MUSIEK-beleid.

Geen musiek van enige aard word toegelaat nie, insluitend musiek wat deur luidsprekers, radio’s, voertuie of ander elektroniese toestelle gespeel word.

Gaste moet die rus en stilte van die reservaat respekteer. Harde geraas, geskree en enige gedrag wat wild of ander gaste kan steur, is streng verbode.

WILDVEILIGHEID – GROOT 5-WILDRESERVAAT*

Crimson Bush Lodge is binne die Dinokeng Groot 5-wildreservaat geleë, waar gevaarlike wilde diere vrylik rondbeweeg.

Vir julle eie veiligheid is enige wandelinge in die wildreservaat of buite die geëlektrifiseerde heinings rondom Crimson Bush Lodge streng verbode.

Gaste moet te alle tye binne die beskermde, omheinde areas van die lodge bly. Onder geen omstandighede mag gaste hierdie areas te voet verlaat om die reservaat te verken, wilde diere te nader of te gaan stap nie.

Hierdie veiligheidsreëls geld vir alle gaste, insluitend kinders, en moet te alle tye streng nagekom word.

BYKOMENDE HUISREËLS*

– Moet nooit wilde diere nader of voer nie.
– Geen troeteldiere word toegelaat nie.
– Geen rook binne verblyfeenhede of op patio’s nie.
– Bring asseblief julle eie swemhanddoeke. Die badhanddoeke wat ons voorsien, is nie vir swemgebruik bedoel nie.
– Kinders moet te alle tye onder toesig wees.
